Working-from-home and social distancing keep away the traditional holiday office parties in 2020. Yet, Gucci doesn’t want us to forget how a good old company gathering feels like.

This holiday, their campaign brings back the 90s office party — and style! Have a look.

While the end of the year is slowly yet surely approaching, Coronavirus makes it difficult for most of us to gather. Due to remote working and social distancing, traditional holiday celebrations among colleagues will not happen in 2020. And if these usually give room for teasing and awkward moments, they are still an unmissable time of sharing and conviviality. To make up for this absence, Gucci came up with an ode to the good old office holiday party of the 90s for its 2020 Gift Campaign.

Each year, Gucci publishes a Gift Guide to give a little hand to those who are unsure about what to offer to their beloved ones. There is something for everyone. From small accessories to clothing, shoes and handbags.

When it comes to promoting it, the brand is already known for its creative approaches. In 2019, Gucci brought us on “a festive cruise ship” and this year, we are invited to celebrate in “a holiday party set in the 90s, where the workplace becomes an impromptu mix of dancefloor, nightclub and bar” — according to the brand.

The label’s key seasonal products, such as the GG Marmont 2.0 or the Tennis 1977 sneakers, are showcased in the campaign with a strong 90s vibe, while the co-workers exchange Gucci-fied goodies.

Take your sequins and high heels out, this is party time!

Indeed, you will be able to join and experience the campaign in 3D across multiple platforms.

To accompany the marketing initiative, Gucci also created a new arcade game available on the Gucci App. The game is inspired by the famous Conga Master game, where you can take control of an employee in an office setting and try to convince your colleagues to start a conga line — the exact vibe for an office party, right?

Alongside the campaign, Gucci announced the launch of a new sustainable packaging. From now on, the paper and cardboard will be issued from sustainably managed forest sources and fully recyclable. Which is great news knowing that the holiday season is very polluting when its comes to packaging.
