This week we gathered some of our top professional photographers in Hamburg for another round of the Cherrydeck Photography Networking Tour. In this 3rd edition of the tour, beauty photographers met beauty brands, and had a full day of showcasing their portfolios and networking.

Networking is important in most businesses, and for a professional photographer, there’s no way around putting yourself out there if you want your work to get seen. Crafting your personal brand and knowing how to pitch it is also absolutely crucial.

In most cases, what clients are buying are never just purely the images (unless you’re in the stock images business), your creative input, your personal style, or even your work personality also play significant roles in securing a booking. Once you’ve got the networking and pitching skills down, they can truly help take your career to the next level.

Networking through Cherrydeck

At Cherrydeck, we provide professional photographers with networking tours as one of our Opportunities. In these events, we have brought together photographers, brands, and agencies within the similar niches or with shared interests, and facilitated a proper quality sit-down time for both the creatives and clients to talk, exchange knowledge, ideas, and get to know each other’s works and demands.

For this 3rd round of the photography networking tour, beauty photography was in focus. We invited four photographers with great experience in the field along with their amazing portfolios to meet beauty brands in Hamburg. Here’s a short recap of the day:

About the beauty brands

The networking day started at a big name in haircare, Schwarzkopf Professional, followed by a rising star professional make up line, Backstage Make-Up, and finished with a scientific-based skin care brand, Cicé.

During each visit, the photographers were introduced to the brands and their process of the booking and working with creative professionals. After that, they then had a chance to individually share their work to the brands’ creative editors and marketing managers, and discuss creative inputs for potential future collaborations.
